Overview

The Auditing page gives you a log of activity carried out on the system — configuration changes, user actions, compliance events, and more. Every entry is timestamped and attributed to a user, giving you an audit trail for compliance, investigation, and governance purposes.

To access it, go to Settings > Advanced > Auditing.

Search

Use the search controls along the top of the page to filter the audit log. At a minimum, set a start and end date, then click Search.

ControlDescription
Start dateThe start of the date range to search within.
End dateThe end of the date range to search within.
CategoryFilters the log by the type of audit entry. Options are: All, Info, Warning, Error, Database, and Compliance.
SearchRuns the search using the selected criteria and populates the results table.

Advanced search

Click the Advanced search button next to the Search button to expand additional filter options.

FilterDescription
UserFilter the log to activity carried out by a specific user.
AreaFilter by the part of MaxContact where the activity took place.
For example, the Inbound Blacklist will show audit logs for activity carried out on the Inbound Deny List page.

Note. When a change type is selected, a second dropdown appears to the right allowing you to narrow the filter further. For example, selecting User shows a list of all users to choose from.
