MaxContact users should avoid making changes on this page unless they fully understand the implications these changes will have on the systems dialing capabilities. If you believe adjustments to any SIP code settings are necessary, please contact our support team for expert assistance. 

What are SIP Codes?
When the MaxContact system places an outbound call, the external network returns a number (SIP Code) for each type of call. The SIP Codes page allows you to change the recall time for each SIP Code. Remember, these recall times may be overwritten by user or system call outcome codes.

The SIP Response Codes are divided into three meaningful categories:
  • 4xx Client Failure Responses. Something happened on our side of the call.
  • 5xx Server Failure Responses. Something happened on their side of the call.
  • 6xx Global Failure Responses. Something happened in between (usually).

The SIP Codes page is used in line with the 'Can Recall' setting configured within the System Recalls area of the Plans page.

On the left-hand panel you will see a list of all the pre-configured SIP Codes the MaxContact dialer will receive from the external carrier.

Next to each SIP code, you will see if the lead will be recalled or not and the current set recall scale.

SIP Response Settings

**Do not create a new SIP Code unless you understand what all of this information means!**


SIP Response Code. The code generated by the external network. This cannot be changed on the default codes.

Active. keep the active tick box ticked if you want to use the SIP Code (unticked will keep it inactive and hidden but will not delete it). This cannot be changed on the default codes. 

Description. Enter a description of what the code relates to. For the default codes it is best not to change this. 

Recall. Set whether you wish to recall lead phones assigned the code..

Recall Time.  Enabling ‘Recall’ will enable the ‘Recall time’ box to appear. Setting a SIP code to Recall will mean that at some point in the future (that point being the amount of time in days/hours/minutes you enter in the Recall time) the lead phone will become eligible to be dialed again.
