When you have completed designing your dashboard you need to save it then publish it to a dashboard 'area'.

Clicking the green save button will save the dashboard to the designer but it will not be visible anywhere else.

Clicking Publish will enable the dashboard to be published to an area of the system.  When clicked, it will open the following ‘Publish Page’ dialog box:

The top of the dialog box has 3 options explained below;

Publish to - Here you can choose the following options;

  • BI Dashboard
  • Campaign Dashboard
  • Campaign Management
  • Dashboard
  • Home
  • List Dashboard
  • Team Dashboard
  • User Dashboard
  • Web Agent

These sections are fixed and have been created to make life easier by placing dashboards in different ‘categories’.  For example, dashboards designed for teams would be published to the ‘Team Dashboard’ area, dashboards used to display campaign information would be put in the ‘Campaign Dashboard’ area and dashboards designed for agents to see would be published to ‘Web Agent’ (You can specify the campaign a web agent dashboard is published to enabling you to have different dashboards for each campaign you run).

For more details on these areas and where these dashboards can be accessed, click the link - Dashboard 'Publish To' Options

Publish to role - The publish to role drop-down allows the user to specify which roles can see the dashboard.  For example, only giving Team leaders access to Team Dashboards.

Allow users to edit dashboards -  Here, users can be given ‘permission’ to edit the selected dashboard.  ‘Read Only’ allows a user to see the dashboard but not change it, ‘Read Write’ allows a user to edit the dashboard like they were using the dashboard designer.

This means that when the user is accessing the dashboard, they can click the settings icon in the top right-hand corner which gives them access to all the widget settings on the dashboard.  Users can also remove or add widgets from the dashboard.

These changes are not saved on the main dashboard.  Instead, a new dashboard will appear in the drop-down with the same name and '_custom' on the end. This will only be viewable by that user. Only changes made on dashboards in ‘Dashboard Designer’ will be saved permanently and visible to all who access that dashboard.

Only show assigned Campaigns, Teams & Users - Checking this box will ensure that dashboards will only show information the user is assigned to see.  Any widgets displaying information not assigned to the user will be blank.

In this box, you can set what stats will be displayed in the dashboard by default and what can be selected in the filters. These are the same filters described in the 'Filter Options' section on Dashboard Designer - Settings & Info.  They will show the same as what has been previously setup and can be changed/updated here if required.

As per the filters box, when users see the dashboard, users will be able to see stats from selected areas, for example, a dashboard could be designed to display information from one campaign only or have the option to show all campaigns.  You could also set dashboards stats to only show information for certain Teams by unchecking ‘Allow Campaign Selection, List Selection and User Selection' meaning users could only change the Teams option.

Colour - The colour in the top right of this box refers to the default colour for the filters on dashboards and wallboards.  When creating filter groups on a dashboard, the default colour matches this. If you set more than one filter, you can scroll between the colours and allow users to change the filters or not.

Publish to webagent

The Web Agent option changes the dialog box to display the following;

Here you can publish dashboards to the Web Agent for specific campaigns, meaning agents on different campaigns will see different dashboards if required.  By selecting a specific campaign, the dashboard will only show to agents logged in to that campaign.

You will still have the options to publish to certain roles, give read/write or read only permission and only show assigned Campaigns, Teams and Users.
