This guide explains what you should do to enable international dialling. If you want to control the times you dial multiple countries, this article outlines the best solution to do so.
Before Importing your data you will need to have separate CSV’s for each country, for example China.csv and Usa.csv this is so you can allocate a time zone to each individual country (It is possible to import mixed lists of country numbers but you will not be able to control the time you call them).
You can then create separate lists for each of those country’s you will be calling and import the csv’s to them and allocate time zone spans relevant to the location being dialled (you can use one list for countries with different time zones e.g. China, USA etc).
OR
You can import the separated data onto one list and select multiple time zone spans to dial as the separated imports will all have their own time zones allocated on import.
You can only allocate one timezone when you do a single data import. This means multiple country number imports can't be imported in one go onto one list, if you want to control when you are dialling.
You will also need to do the following before creating the lists;
Calling time plans
To dial internationally and adhere to the time zones, you will need to set up ‘Calling Time Spans’ for each of your lists.
To do this, you can go to SETTINGS > CALL TIME PLANS
Firstly you will need a Calling Time PLAN to assign the SPANS to!
You can then allocate the spans you make, to the plan. To do this, simply select the PLAN and then click the + next to the SPAN.
Spans
Next, you will need to set up time spans for each of the time zones you will be calling, you will need a time span set up for each phone type too if you are calling them (home, work, mobile).
Here’s an example of a Home time span for a time zone in China;
(The time span in blue relates to the time of day in that time zone, so the above shows 9am to 5pm in Beijing which would be 1am to 9am UK time.) You can change these to whatever period of time you want to call that time zone.
Once created you can add them to the calling Time PLAN as mentioned above.
ASSIGNING TO LISTS
Once you save the PLANS to the system you can assign them to LISTS on the ‘Plans’ tab of the List being created for each country.
NOTE: You can click the 'jump button' to allow you to select from the time spans on the plan, the plan will have all the spans assigned and you can check the ones you want to apply to the list (you can have more than one per list and they will match up to the relevant international numbers when dialling);
Once done, hit save and complete creating the list for the country.
IMPORTING DATA FROM CSV FILES
When importing it’s better to do an individual import for each country (within their own time zones) off an individual country csv file.
(When this is done, you can name each of the ‘Settings’ throughout the import by country & time zone for repeated use in further imports, this speeds up the process in the future.)
In terms of the time zone and calling code – set the relevant time zone for the data but leave the calling code as 0 if your data has the calling codes on the CSV file OR select the relevant calling code for that country.
Again, you will have to do separate data imports for each of your different time zones for successful international dialling.
When all this has been completed, the leads imported with certain time zones will only be called within the set times of the day on the spans created.
Finally,
If you are dialling internationally, we need you to inform us of which countries you will be calling on which DDI's so they can be white-listed for international calling (The network providers can’t do a blanket white list for all countries).
