The 5.0.7 version of the product brings two new features, 'Reserve Inbound Numbers' and 'Email Channel Validation'. As well as this, there have been some general updates to the product, bug fixes and performance enhancements.

New Features

Reserved Numbers

We have introduced a new feature, via the Inbound Numbers page, that allows you to reserve and secure inbound numbers for future use. Once a number is reserved, it cannot be changed until the specified date in the "Reserved Until" column has passed. This ensures that your chosen numbers are protected and unavailable to others.

For more information including how you can edit the information, visit the Inbound Numbers guide here.

Email Channel Validation

On email channels via the Channels page, you can now find a new button 'Test Connection' that allows you to check if the authentication credentials for your mailbox are correct. This improvement provides a quick and easy way to verify if the credentials you've entered are accurate and functioning properly. Simply click on the button, and MaxContact will perform a check to validate the connection with the associated mailbox. This ensures that you have the correct settings in place and helps prevent any potential issues with accessing your mailbox.

Visit the Email Channel Configuration guide here.

Product Updates

To give you greater visibility of changes we have made in this release, please find below details of fixes, changes and enhancements to the product.

Manager Portal/General

UI/UX. A number of UI defects have been resolved within the Manager Portal.

Explore Page. We've made improvements to the Explore Page - you can now enquire about features that are coming soon by providing contact details and a message which we can then reply to.

Manager Portal/Management

Queues. We've resolved issues where customers hanging up during Whisper announcements weren't flagged as abandoned calls. Changes ensure accurate reporting and improved call handling.

Manager Portal/Reports

Core reports. Last call date was not visible in core reports after updating leads using the Lead Search and Edit page. This has been resolved and you can now view the updated information seamlessly.

Manager Portal/Admin

Channel Hubs. For clients utilising Webchat, we have made a change. Previously, there were instances where a partially constructed message would appear when a customer joined a Webchat conversation. With the latest update, the message will now only be displayed when it is fully constructed and ready to be shown. This enhancement ensures a smoother and more professional experience for customers.

Queues. We have improved the performance of a core component responsible for queue membership. It now handles high user volumes more effectively, ensuring an improved level of service without any impact on performance.

Do Not Call. We identified an issue where call-backs removed via the DNC import were not being properly removed from the call-backs in Web Agent. This has been resolved in the update.

Manager Portal/Quality

Evaluations. For clients who make use of Evaluations, there was a rare issue where a star rating could falsely show to the user performing the evaluation, when one had not in fact been assigned. This has been resolved.

Manager Portal/Web Agent

WhatsApp & SMS. We fixed the issue of message order for international clients using WhatsApp and SMS. Changes now consider international providers, ensuring messages appear in the right sequence. Your messaging experience will be smoother.

Database Updates

For clients that use the MaxContact replication database, the below changes have been made.

  • The legacy Campaign Management page was removed in version 5.0.4. As a result, the dashboard pages associated with the legacy Campaign Management page have been removed from the Widget_Area and Widget_Publish tables. This doesn't impact the Campaign Manager widget on other pages.
  • As part of the Inbound Numbers improvements a number of database changes have been made.

A new permission has been added to the permissions table called "Inbound Numbers - Number Reservation Override" which allows the user edit the phone number for reserved numbers.

An existing permission has been renamed to provide clarity to users. This is "Inbound Numbers Access" instead of the previous name "Inbound Number Mapping".

We have added several new columns to the "route_group_dnis" table. These columns are: "reserved_for", "details", "reserved_by", "reserved_until", "contact_name", "contact_email_address", and "contact_phone_number".

As well as the highlighted areas above, there have also been some minor quality-of-life improvements and software stability fixes added to the product.
New additions are currently in the Beta phase of production. You may see this icon for areas containing these features and changes within the product.
